Loyalty - The Best You Engrossed

Godliness is the term used by the Apostle Peter in his  letter.

The root word for godliness means "to be devout"or in today's terminology intensely loyal or "sold out."

Intense loyalty is the best you engrossed in the cause of achieving your best life possible.

For a Christian like me godliness or intense loyalty reflects the five characteristics preceding it, that is:

  • Having put my full faith and trust in God and His Son Jesus Christ,
  • Having chosen to pursue moral goodness in all parts of my new life,
  • Having dedicated myself to know and apply all I can regarding God and his Kingdom,
  • Having learned to practice self-control and personal discipline,
  • And, having persevered through many trials and temptations,

I am now so engrossed in the pursuit and knowledge of my Lord and God that I am utterly and completely sold out to him.

In a more general sense, this type of "devoutness," consecration or intense loyalty can occur depending on the number years of wholehearted dedication one has given to a cause or occupation.

The movie Invincible with Mark Wahlberg tells the story of a local boy in Philadelphia who gets a shot to play football with the hometown Eagles. A strong undercurrent brought out in the film is how the loyalty of the Eagle's fans has intensified as they endured through many years of woeful play and near misses. The more you pour out your own blood, sweat and tears for your cause or  pursuit the more you will find yourself living your best life dreamed.
