Hard Work Pays Off for Young Colombian Golfer

Too far behind to do anything about the FedEx Cup, Camilo Villegas put together a stirring rally Sunday that was good enough to win the Tour Championship in a playoff over Sergio Garcia for his second straight victory.

Villegas overcame a five-shot deficit by making six birdies over his last 11 holes for a 4-under 66, then beat Garcia with a par on the 233-yard 18th hole used in the playoff.

The 26-year-old Colombian, who had gone 85 starts on the PGA Tour without winning, picked up his second in a row with a finish that brought the gallery to life on a sunny afternoon at East Lake.

He birdied the 17th hole from 12 feet to catch Garcia, then twice hit beautiful lag putts from outside 45 feet, once in regulation to finish at 7-under 273, then in the playoff to cap off his tour season in style.

Villegas, who should move to No. 6 in the world ranking Monday, earned $1.26 million for winning the Tour Championship.

"I cannot emphasize how hard I've worked," Villegas said.

"Success is a DECISION!"

At my July 3-Day Intensive Class I shared an incredible revelation with my students that I had just experienced in my own business.

It was a simple revelation, and one that I thought I understood, but quickly realized that I "knew it" intellectually, but I hadn't experienced it so dramatically for quite some time. I had been thinking about the next steps in my business and this THOUGHT about what I needed to let go of kept popping up. Finally, I decided to listen to that thought.

And then... drum roll please...I MADE A DECISION!

Yup, that's it! I made a decision. Right in that moment. A real, solid, strong, committed decision!

Now, that might not seem like a big deal. And you are probably saying to yourself, "Okay, Ursula, so what? You made a decision. Whooppee! What's the big deal?"

And here is what I want you to "get" and I mean really "get" the way I did that afternoon. There is a difference between making a decision and making a DECISION!

What? Sounds the same to you? It did to me too.

So, why was this different?

Because this DECISION was a commitment.

It wasn't just a decision, where 50% of me was committed. It was 100% of me and inside I said, "Yes, this is the answer, the next step...this is IT!"

You see, all decisions aren't "DECISIONS"! Until you are committed 100%, you are only letting a small % of ideas and opportunities flow to you.

But when you are committed 100%, then it as if you have opened up a floodgate of ideas and opportunities!

Making the Decision

As many of you know, I love to help people, and I know you do as well. You care about your clients and you want to give as much as you can. However, what I was beginning to notice is that the more my business filled up and the more one-on-one coaching I was doing, the fewer people I was helping. Now, that seemed to go against everything in my business because, after all, I own a coaching and training business and of course I offer individual coaching.

"Of course", right? Wrong! And this is what I started to realize. As business owners, we can get so tied into the products or services that we offer that we don't take the time to step out of the business and say, "Am I really fulfilling my mission?" My mission was to help as many people as possible dramatically increase their sales and opportunities, but the more one-on-one coaching I did, the more I was limited in the amount of people I could help.

And that is when it hit me...

I needed to make a DECISION. Not a small, 50% "decision", but a BIG DECISION that meant I was committing 100% to fulfilling my mission.

Now, I also realized that making that kind of DECISION would mean that there might be a sacrifice. And that sacrifice meant that I would be letting go of some (not all) of the revenue stream that I had developed. If I was going to do less one-on-one coaching, I had to let go and make room. And then something amazing happened!

The second I made the DECISION and released the idea that this was a sacrifice and instead realized that I was making room for larger opportunities to show up, my business turned on it's side! Within a few days, for a variety of reasons, I had many of my individual clients either take a break or transition to another one of my group coaching programs. WITHIN DAYS! At first I panicked! What am I going to do? What does this mean? PANIC BUTTON!

Once you've Made Room, the Opportunities will Show Up!

And then the phone started to ring! Opportunities and ideas that I had only dreamed of started to show up!

Make the DECISION to move forward in your business, let go of what you need to make room and watch your business GROW!

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.
